Rajapparamedu

The travel destination this time is fixed as Rajapparamedu, the land of fog and traditional grandeur.  Rajapparamedu is a place with beautiful view points and is situated at the border of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.  It can be reached by travelling a distance of just 2 km through cardamom forests on the Munnar-Thekkady route.  From here, one can have different views of Tamil Nadu.

Rajapparamedu

The vast areas of wind farms, the scenes that offer a world of colors everywhere, the fog that covers these scenes in a second, the cool climate, all of them make Rajapparamedu a heaven.  Sloping rocks for adventurers who like to climb up and down, wild elephants which appear suddenly and disappear and bison make a festival of scenery.

Rajapparamedu

There was a temple here.  The damaged stone walls and raised floor where there stand 2 statues of idols can still be seen.  Legend says that a king of the Thondaiman Dynasty of Tamil Nadu came here for hiding himself from enemies.  He cut a rock and kept his valuables hidden in it.

On a huge rock, there can be seen some writings which resemble lines and pictures.  It is said that lot of people have tried to find the treasure, but nobody is known to have found it till now.

Rajapparamedu

Filling my mind with all the stories and the striking beauty of the nature, I said goodbye to Rajapparamedu.
